‘Bad Boys 4’: Will Smith And Martin Lawrence Are Officially Back For More Shootouts And Car Chases

As if things weren’t busy enough at Warner Bros. Discovery today, they also chose this as the time to reveal that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are officially back for Bad Boys 4.

Will Smith couldn’t wait to make the big announcement on social media. He doesn’t look like a guy whose supposed Oscar movie Emancipation was just shut out, does he?

Deadline adds that previous directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are coming back, with preproduction already underway. They’ll be working from a script by Chris Bremner. As for the plot, expect plenty of explosions, shootouts and car chases.

I think we forget just how huge Bad Boys for Life really was. Released in January 2020, the film hit $426M worldwide before COVID-19 began shutting everything down. A sequel was obvious, but following Will Smith’s infamous slapping of Chris Rock, movement was put on a brief hold.

So there you have it. More Bad Boys. And if this one’s a hit, too, what’s to prevent there from being more?
