Aaron Taylor-Johnson Has Reportedly Met With 007 Producers: Is He The Next James Bond?

Maybe it was his silky smooth performance in Bullet Train that did it, but suddenly Aaron Taylor-Johnson is looking like a frontrunner to become the next James Bond. That’s the story emerging from Puck, who reports Taylor-Johnson has met with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.

Sounds about right, doesn’t it? Taylor-Johnon checks off all the boxes. He’s English, he looks damn good in a suit, and he can be both suave and a tough motherfucker, all qualities held by his predecessor, Daniel Craig. And with Craig now two movies deep playing detective Benoit Blanc in Knives Out and Glass Onion, it seems like a good time to start getting serious about his replacement as 007.

However, there could be a problem that keeps Taylor-Johnson out of the role. Bond producers are said to be looking for an actor who is on the verge of superstardom. I’d argue that he’s already there, but with roles in Kraven the Hunter and The Fall Guy coming up, Taylor-Johnson might be too hot by the time Broccoli is ready to make a decision.

Or both movies could bomb and he’s too ice-cold. You don’t want an actor on the downward slope to be your 007.
