‘Kids Vs. Aliens’ Trailer: Teens Face An Alien Invasion In New Film From ‘Hobo With A Shotgun’ Director

Welcome back, Jason Eisener! It’s been way too long since his grindhouse debut Hobo with a Shotgun, and while he’s made wrestling fans like me happier than John Cena doing Make-A-Wish with his Dark Side of the Ring series on Vice, Eisener finally has a new film to look forward to. A sensation at Fantastic Fest earlier this year, Kids vs. Aliens gives us exactly what we’d hope for from a film with such a literal title: plucky kids, house parties, and an alien invasion!

Here’s the official synopsis: All Gary wants is to make awesome home movies with his best buds. All his older sister Samantha wants is to hang with the cool kids. When their parents head out of town one Halloween weekend, an all-time rager of a teen house party turns to terror when aliens attack, forcing the siblings to band together to survive the night.” You can tell how everyone feels about this extraterrestrial inconvenience by the one-liner in the trailer that’s also movie’s tagline in the poster below.

The cast is led by Dominic Mariche, Phoebe Rex, Calem MacDonald, Asher Grayson, Ben Tector, Emma Vickers, Isaiah Fortune, Jonathan Torrens, and Jessica Marie Brown. Eisener not only directed but co-wrote the screenplay with John Davies. Horror site Bloody Disgusting is aboard as a producer, as well, so I’m sure they’re going all-in for it over there.

Comparisons to Attack the Block are inevitable, but Kids vs. Aliens appears to have enough to make its own mark. This looks like a blast.

Kids vs. Aliens opens on January 20th 2023.
