‘Ballerina’: Norman Reedus Joins ‘John Wick’ Spinoff Starring Ana de Armas

Only yesterday we were discussing the idea of Norman Reedus starring in the newly-announced Death Stranding movie, but today he’s landed a much bigger film. Deadline reports that Reedus is becoming part of the John Wick franchise, joining the Ballerina spinoff movie starring Ana de Armas.

Reedus, who just completed his run as biker badass Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, joins a Ballerina cast that includes Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick and Catalina Sandino Moreno, with Keanu Reeves expected to cameo as John Wick. The film will be directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld) from a script by Army of the Dead writer Shay Hatten and Promising Young Woman writer Emerald Fennell.

The story centers on Rooney, a ballet dancer who sets out to get vengeance on those who murdered her family.  It’s unclear what Reedus’ role will be, but his fans are undoubtedly envisioning a Daryl Dixon vs. John Wick showdown that’s never going to happen. Reedus’ prior screen credits include Blade IIThe Boondock Saints, and Vacation.
