‘Violent Night’ Trailer: David Harbour Is An Ass-Kicking Santa In Tommy Wirkola’s Holiday Action Flick

How do you feel about action flicks John Wick, Nobody, Atomic Blonde, and Bullet Train? Kinda dig ’em? Well, you’ve got the folks at 87North to thank. The production company has been behind a string of action movies that make this genre fan’s heart swell, and I’m not alone. And they’ve got a new movie coming up, Violent Night, that looks like it’ll be exactly what fans are looking for this holiday season.

David Harbour continues his run of fun roles, playing an ass-kicking Santa Claus in Violent Night. He’s on the scene with more than a sleigh full of toys when a bunch of mercenaries take a young girl and her wealthy family hostage.

Also in the cast are John Leguizamo, Beverly D’Angelo, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson, and Cam Gigandet.

Another to be pretty excited for this? Tommy Wirkola, the filmmaker behind Dead Snow, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and What Happened to Monday, is aboard to direct. He makes big, entertaining, ridiculously over-the-top action movies, and this looks right up his alley.

Violent Night opens on December 2nd.

When a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (David Harbour, Black Widow, Stranger Things series) is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.
