Sacha Baron Cohen Rumored For Mephisto Role In Marvel’s ‘Ironheart’ Series

Mephisto, the Marvel Universe’s version of Satan, has been rumored for the MCU for years. There was a time when he was expected to be pulling the strings in WandaVision, before that changed to Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness. In recent days, rumors have perked up again about Mephisto, this time showing up in the Ironheart series and played by Borat‘s Sacha Baron Cohen.

Those rumors got a serious boost with Deadline supporting them. They’ve also heard that Cohen will be taking on the role of Mephisto in the upcoming Ironheart series on Disney+ that stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams. Mephisto has tangled with every major Marvel hero, with a special fondness for making Spider-Man’s life miserable.

But what is a technological hero like Ironheart, who has her own Iron Man-style suit of armor, doing against a supernatural foe like Mephisto? We already know that other occult characters will be in the show, with Anthony Ramos confirmed to play The Hood.  The Ironheart character will first appear in next month’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

If the Cohen news is true, then we’ll have both Borat Subsequent Moviefilm stars in the MCU, as Maria Bakalova recently signed on to play Cosmo the talking dog in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Going back to those original Mephisto rumors, there’s speculation the character could also show up in WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
