‘Nosferatu’: Robert Eggers’ Vampire Reimagining To Star Bill Skarsgard, Lily Rose-Depp In Talks

For a long time The Witch and The Northman director Robert Eggers has expressed a desire to remake Nosferatu, about the king of all vampires. While the project didn’t seem to be going anywhere, Deadline reports that Focus Features is now closer than ever to moving forward on it, with some key changes to the casting.

Set to star in Eggers’ Nosferatu Bill Skarsgard, continuing his streak of playing creepy characters. While he is on board, his co-star is still in question.  Anya Taylor-Joy was attached but has dropped out, and she might soon be replaced by Lily-Rose Depp who has entered talks for the role. The Gothic tale centers on the “obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.”

Skarsgard can be seen in theaters right now in the hit horror film, Barbarian. Depp was most recenty seen in the thrillers Wolf and Silent Night. She has HBO series The Idol coming up from Sam Levinson.
