Season 2 of The Mandalorian hits Disney+ on October 30th (yay!!! But booo to doing recaps again!!), and is there ANYONE who plans to jump in without watching season 1? Disney apparently thinks so, because they have released this recap to get those folks caught up.
The Mandalorian‘s first season is not at all complicated, and this recap is proof of that. It doesn’t do much to introduce Mando, and within about ten seconds they’re already at Werner Herzog’s client dude and our first appearance by Baby Yoda. The rest of the video is leaping around to various points of the season without giving much detail into anything, and yet it isn’t really confusing, either.
So this recap isn’t awful, just unnecessary? It leaves a lot of stuff out, mainly character details and such, and I’m guessing this will be the video that precedes the first episode of season 2 on Friday.
My advice? The episodes are short and they move quickly. Just watch season one. Start now and you’ll get it done. It’s worth it just for Taika Waititi’s IG-11.
