Anne Hathaway And Jessica Chastain To Play Rival ’60s Housewives In ‘Mother’s Instinct’

After starring together in Interstellar, but not sharing much if any screen time, Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway will have a proper film where they can go head-to-head. Deadline reports the two A-list actresses will lead Mother’s Instinct, an English-language remake of Belgian award-winner Duelles.

The film will be directed by Olivier Masset-Depasse, who directed Duelles, and adapted by Sarah Conradt (50 States of Fright) based on Barbara Abel’s novel about 1960s housewives and best friends living an idyllic life. That is until a tragic incident causes paranoia, guilt, and suspicion to tear their friendship apart.

Chastain will be all over the place soon, with roles in The 355, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and more. Hathaway can be seen right now in HBO Max film The Witches, and has the pandemic thriller Lockdown on the way.
