‘Lonely Planet’ Trailer: Laura Dern And Liam Hemsworth Rom-Com Hits Netflix In October

Stop me if you’ve heard this story before: A writer struggling with writer’s block travels to a beautiful part of the world for inspiration, only to meet a handsome guy who unlocks her passionate side? Been there and done that, right? Well, there’s a reason these types of stories are so popular, and Netflix hopes they have another successful one with Lonely Planet, starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth.

Here’s the synopsis: A reclusive novelist arrives at a prestigious writer’s retreat in Morocco, hoping the remote setting will unlock her writer’s block. While there, she meets a young man — what starts as an acquaintanceship evolves into an intoxicating, life-altering love affair.

Interestingly, behind the camera is Susannah Grant, who last directed the Jennifer Garner/Timothy Olyphant 2007 rom-com Catch and Release. Grant is an Oscar-nominee for her Erin Brockovich script, and has penned other well-known female-led films such as In Her Shoes, Ever After, The 5th Wave, and Disney’s Pocahontas.

Netflix will stream Lonely Planet exclusively on October 11th.
