Amazon’s ‘Spider-Noir’ Adds ‘Boardwalk Empire’ Star Jack Huston

The cast of Amazon MGM’s Spider-Noir series is expanding its cast surrounding star Nicolas Cage. Deadline reports that Jack Huston has been added as a series regular, joining the previously-cast Brendan Gleeson, LaMorne Morris, Abraham Popoola, and Li Jun Li.

Huston is best known for his starring role in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, along with roles in The Irishman, American Hustle, and Fargo. Last year he made his directorial debut with boxing drama Day of the Fight. He is expected to play a bodyguard in Spider-Noir, which is a vague description and could mean they are keeping his character a secret. I feel like he could be a member of the Enforcers, a mob-themed gang of hitmen who fit the show’s aesthetic. Just speculation on my part.

Spider-Noir “tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”

Oren Uziel (Mortal Kombat) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) are co-showrunners, with Harry Bradbeer aboard as director and exec-producer.  Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who helped introduce the character to the big screen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, helped develop the series and will exec-produce.

Spider-Noir will premiere on the MGM+ linear channel in the U.S. and globally on Prime Video.
