The TIFF lineup is already shaping up to be very strong, and today, five more big titles were announced as Special Presentations. Those include the Zellner Brothers’ Alpha Gang, Rachel Morrison’s Love of Your Life, Bassam Tariq’s Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, Ben Shirinian’s The Housewife, and Benjamin Naishtat’s Glaxo. Trust me, all are on my radar for Toronto this September.
We have a couple of first-look images, too. The Zellner Brothers are back on the festival circuit with Alpha Gang, their latest following Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter, Damsel, and Sasquatch Sunset. The film stars Chris Pine, Riley Keough, Lily-Rose Depp, Dave Bautista, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Cate Blanchett, Doona Bae, Adria Arjona, and Léa Seydoux, centering on alien invaders disguised as a leather-clad 1950s biker gang. Their plans to conquer Earth are disrupted when they experience human emotions.
It’s not been a smooth ride for Alpha Gang, which had an entirely different cast when it was first announced in 2020. Channing Tatum, Steven Yeun, Zoe Kravitz, Andrea Riseborough, Jon Hamm, and Nicholas Hoult were all previously attached but have since exited.

Margaret Qualley is featured in the first image from Love of Your Life, from Oscar-nominated Mudbound cinematographer Rachel Morrison. The film is Morrison’s second as a director, following the terrific boxing drama, The Fire Inside.
Penned by Julia Cox, the story “follows Maya (Margaret Qualley), whose chance encounter with Charlie (Gabriel Basso) sets in motion a sweeping romance and a future beyond anything she had imagined. When that future is suddenly upended, Maya is sent hurtling toward an unexpected new life—one that will force her to reckon with who she is, what she wants, and how to love again.”
Also in the cast are Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Catherine Keener, Tamara Lawrance, and Corey Johnson. Amazon MGM Studios will open Love of Your Life in select theaters on October 7th, followed by Prime Video streaming on October 14th.
