Those of us who have been fans of Adam Scott since the Party Down days are thrilled to see him finally getting his props, largely due to the success of Apple’s hit series, Severance. Next up, he’ll be seen in HOKUM, a supernatural horror from NEON and Oddity director Damian McCarthy.
Here’s the synopsis: When novelist Ohm Bauman retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, he is consumed by tales of a witch haunting the honeymoon suite. Disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance forces him to confront dark corners of his past.
NEON is the studio behind Zach Cregger’s Weapons, but also the last three movies by Osgood Perkins. There are a lot of similarities in the style and tone, and it’s easy to see why McCarthy is being mentioned as in the same league as those two.
Also in the cast are David Wilmot, Austin Amelio, Florence Ordesh, Peter Coonan. HOKUM will hit theaters on May 1st.
