‘The Housemaid’ Final Trailer: Amanda Seyfried And Sydney Sweeney Star In Paul Feig’s Sexy, Seductive Thriller

This week, Lionsgate is putting all of its confidence in director Paul Feig to deliver in the face of some stiff box office competition. Feig’s latest, The Housemaid, stars Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney in an adaptation of Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel franchise full of twisted secrets by the rich and deadly. And it’ll be going head-to-head against James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash as a clear alternative for those who prefer their thrillers a bit closer to Earth.

Penned by Rebecca Sonnenshine, The Housemaid stars Sweeney as a woman with a mysteriously checkered past who becomes live-in housemaid to a wealthy couple, only to unearth dark secrets beneath the surface.

The film also stars Brandon Sklenar, Michele Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins.

McFadden has published two more sequels to The Handmaid, so if this one turns out to be a hit when released on December 19th, don’t be surprised if Lionsgate comes back for more. If you can keep stars like Sweeney and Seyfried around for the long haul, you do it.

I think The Housemaid has a pretty good shot at being a sneaky hit. The books have a large fanbase, and there are plenty of twists and turns here that will get folks buzzing. Look out for my review soon.
