Nicholas Hoult Joins David Leitch’s Untitled Bank Heist Thriller

Nicholas Hoult has been busy lately with Juror No. 2, The Order, Nosferatu, and a little thing he has coming up called…what was it…oh yeah, Superman. And yet he’s still far from done, as THR reports he’s joining the next film from The Fall Guy director David Leitch.

Leitch and his 87North production label have joined with Amazon MGM Studios and Imagine Entertainment for an untitled bank heist thriller that’ll star Hoult. What’s it about? The story reportedly “centers on a group of savvy bank robbers who use social media to document their heists, playing a cat-and-mouse game with police.”

It’s unclear which side of the law Hoult will fall on. Considering he just finished playing a skinhead bank robber in Justin Kurzel’s The Order, it would be a nice change of pace to see him as a detective. He’s also playing Lex Luthor in Superman and isn’t that enough villainy?

The screenplay is by Mark Bianculli, writer on Amazon’s series Hunters, and the female Cliffhanger reboot starring Lily James. Leitch is best known for his action flicks such as Bullet Train, Atomic Blonde, John Wick, and Deadpool 2, so you have an idea what this next film could look like.

Shooting is expected to begin this summer.
