The role of Spider-Man is likely to stick with Tom Holland throughout his career, whether he likes it or not. He’s struggled to establish himself separately from Marvel, but if there’s any director who can help him do that it’s Christopher Nolan and his next big summer tentpole project.
Deadline reports that Holland has joined Christopher Nolan’s secret summer blockbuster coming to theaters in 2026. Of course, the film is largely a mystery at this point, but we do know that he joins Matt Damon as the only two actors cast thus far. It’s unclear who will be the lead, however.
Nolan’s untitled 13th movie will hit theaters on July 17th 2026, in IMAX, of course. A rumor put forth by Indiewire says it could be a father-son story, but that’s incredibly vague. Are we potentially looking at Holland as Damon’s son? Hey, the math works as Holland is 26 and Damon is 54.
Coming up for Holland is Spider-Man 4, which is also rumored to arrive in July 2026. That could prove very interesting to see whether Universal or Sony gets cold feet about having two Holland blockbusters so close together. Also, who knows if there will be scheduling conflicts?
