Amy Adams is in one of the highlights of TIFF with her lates film, Nightbitch, but she’s already got another film in the works. Deadline reports the multi-time Oscar nominee will produce and star in Lazy Susans, a rock music comedy at 20th Century Studios.
The film is based on the true story of The Lazy Susans, a group of moms who form a rock band in Boston during the Covid-19 pandemic. Their story was chronicled in the Boston Magazine article “For Those Moms About To Rock.” While no director is attached yet, the film will have a script by Oscar-nominated Bridesmaids writer Annie Mumolo and Moneyball writer Stan Chervin.
With Mumolo aboard, can her pals Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig be far behind? They’ve worked together multiple times, and this seems like a perfect fit for them to have fun supporting roles.
Coming up for Adams is the aforementioned Nightbitch, which opens in theaters this December. She’s also wrapped on Taika Waititi’s Klara and the Sun, and also has At the Sea from director Kornél Mundruczó.
