‘Terminator Zero’ Trailer: The War Against Skynet Comes To Netflix As An Anime Series

We’ve seen Blade Runner and Alien make something of a comeback recently, but is it now time for Terminator to do the same? And is its path back to sci-fi prominence as an anime series, rather than a live-action movie? We’re going to find out with Terminator Zero, which brings the war against Skynet to Netflix later this month.

Featuring the voices of Timothy Olyphant, André Holland, Rosario Dawson, Ann Dowd, and Sonoya Mizuno, Terminator Zero follows the familiar beats: A terminator and a soldier are sent back in time to 1997 to battle over the life of a human key to the future of Skynet. In this case it’s Malcolm Lee, designer of a special AI to compete against Skynet.

The series was created by Mattson Tomlin, known for co-writing Matt Reeves’ The Batman and the upcoming sequel.

Terminator Zero hits Netflix on August 29th.
