Marvel Studios is expected to have a busy San Diego Comic-Con this week as they return to Hall H. But with Kevin Feige out doing press for Deadpool & Wolverine, he’s being asked to confirm or deny some rumors that have been out there, including on the superhero Nova, who fans have been waiting to see join the MCU for years.
The latest rumors have been that a Nova television series is in development, and Comicbook.com took time to ask Feige about that. Turns out, it’s true but the series is a long way off…
“It’s happening, it’s coming together. Richard Rider, yep,” said Feige. “A show, yeah, yeah… It’s three or four years out.”
There were some who thought Disney CEO Bob Iger’s decision to limit the number of Marvel shows might’ve killed any hope of a Nova series, but it’s alive and well.
Nova aka Richard Rider, is a member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps, seen prominently in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. In the comics he’s also been an Avenger and a member of the New Warriors, sporting one of the most distinctive superhero costumes ever.
My hope, and that of many others, is that Nova’s arrival will coincide with a New Warrors debut. Let’s hope!
