It matters who you know, not what you know. Adam Sandler’s daughter, Sunny Sandler, has been appearing in her dad’s movies for most of her life, beginning with Grown Ups in 2010. Now Sandler’s at the lead of her own movie, Don’t Say Good Luck, a comedy coming to Netflix next month.
Directed and co-written by Julia Hart, the impressive director behind Fast Color, Miss Stevens, Stargirl, and more, Don’t Say Good Luck stars Sandler as a drama kid preparing for the lead role in her high school musical. However, life takes a turn when suddenly the drama at home is crazier than on the stage.
Adam Sandler is a producer on the film, as expected. Melanie Lynskey, Max Greenfield, Jack Champion, Stephanie Beatriz, Scarlett Estevez, Jon Lovitz, Emma McNulty, Elyse Bell, Bebe Neuwirth, and Steve Buscemi round out the cast.
SYNOPSIS: In this coming-of-age dramedy, Sophie Birenbaum is ready for the spotlight as the lead in her high school musical — until suddenly she’s living with even more drama at home than on the stage.
Don’t Say Good Luck hits Netflix on August 14th.
