Following the first images released earlier this week, Prime Video brought the first teaser trailer for Blade Runner 2099 to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con today. Stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer were on hand, along with creator/showrunner Silka Luisa to present footage from the eight-episode series that will debut on November 25th.
SYNOPSIS: Fifty years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, Los Angeles has been reborn, just not by humanity. Cora, a fugitive in a final bid to stop running, takes on one last identity: a Blade Runner. Forced to partner with Olwen, a Replicant days from dying, she hunts down a runaway hiding a truth that could collapse their fragile city.
“The replicants are now the power brokers of the city,” Luisa said previously. “And humans are the second-class citizens.”
Yeoh plays Olwen, a replicant nearing the end of its lifespan and tasked with tracking down a group of rogue replicants. Schafer plays Cora, a human fugitive who must now act as a replicant, joining Olwen’s hunt.
Ridley Scott, director of the 1982 classic, is on board as exec-producer. Also on board the film is Blade Runner 2049 writer Michael Green, as both an exec-producer and a consultant with Luisa.
