‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Art Confirms Two More Spidey Villains

When it comes to Spider-Man, there is no shortage of villains to choose from. The Marvel hero has maybe the deepest Rogues Gallery in all of comics, so much so that movies featuring him tend to be loaded up with foes. Turns out, that will again be the case with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which already has Michael Mando returning as Scorpion and Krondon aka Marving Jones III back as Tombstone after voicing him in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Now we know they’ll be joined by at least two more of Spidey’s enemies.

A new piece of promo art  (revealed by Nexus Point News) confirms that Marvel villains Tarantula and Boomerang will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The image, which appears to be from a piece of merchandise, also includes Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, and he’ll be big and green the way fans want him to be.

Boomerang aka Fred Myers, was a former baseball pitcher recruited into the Secret Empire and later the Sinister Society, where he battled Hulk, Spider-Man and other heroes before becoming a pal to Peter Parker.

Multiple versions of Tarantula exist in the Marvel Universe, with most of them being foes of Spider-Man. One version turned out to be the secret identity of the enigmatic Kaine, a failed Peter Parker clone. It would be interesting to use that one.

Also joining star Tom Holland are Jon Bernthal as Punisher, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, plus Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Severance breakout Trammell Tillman.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31st.
