‘Exit 8’ Trailer: NEON’s Sinister Japanese Metro Horror Arrives Hits Theaters In April

You ever been lost in a parking garage, and that sense of dread that comes when you can’t find your car or the floor that it’s on? Well, imagine that feeling and that’s sort of what to expect from NEON’s upcoming thriller, Exit 8, the Japanese film that I remember a lot of people buzzing about at TIFF last year.

Based on the hit video game, Exit 8 is very simple in premise. One man, trapped in a seemingly endless subway passage, a strict set of rules, and just one way out.

Genki Kawamura is the director, his sophomore effort after debuting with A Hundred Flowers. Kawamura is also a prolific producer behind some of the biggest anime films in the world including Your Name, Mirai, Weathering with You, and Belle.

SYNOPSIS: A man trapped in an endless sterile subway passage sets out to find EXIT 8. The rules of his quest are simple: do not overlook anything out of the ordinary. If you discover an anomaly, turn back immediately. If you don’t, carry on. Then leave from Exit 8. But even a single oversights will send him back to the beginning. Will he ever reach his goal and escape this infinite corridor?

NEON will release Exit 8 in theaters on April 10th.
