James Bond: Jacob Elordi Has Reportedly Met With Denis Villeneuve And Amazon/MGM About 007 Role

Fresh off his Oscar nod for Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi could be on the verge of a much bigger role; a franchise one. The rumor has been going around for months, but now Roger Friedman has backed it up. Elordi has met with director Denis Villeneuve and Amazon MGM execs about landing the James Bond gig.

According to Friedman, the 28-year-old Elordi has had meetings with Villeneuve, Bond producers, and Amazon MGM about playing James Bond in the upcoming film penned by Steven Knight. If that happens, Elordi would be the youngest 007 ever, and would likely lead the franchise for quite some time.

It’s crazy how quickly Elordi’s star has risen to get him to this point. He broke out with his role in HBO’s Euphoria, and has been in some huge films already. In a short period of time he’s worked with Guillermo Del Toro, Emerald Fennell for Saltburn and Wuthering Heights, Sofia Coppola in Priscilla, and Paul Schrader in Oh, Canada. This is the same guy who was doing The Kissing Booth films not too long ago.

Elordi isn’t my favorite actor, but he would make a pretty good Bond. He’s got the looks, charm, a bit of a detached edginess, and he’s got the same kind of physicality that Daniel Craig brought. We’ll see what happens. A decision is expected in a few months.
