Don’t sleep on the duo of Gerard Butler and Ric Roman Waugh. The pair have quietly formed one of the best actor/director combos in the business, with Angel Has Fallen, Kandahar, the vastly underrated 2020 survival thriller, Greenland. And now the two are back together for Greenland 2: Migration, which looks like the biggest project they’ve ever tackled. I can’t wait for this one, and it should look killer on the big screen. I had to watch the last one on a screener at home.
Lionsgate has dropped the trailer for Greenland 2: Migration, which finds Butler and Morena Baccarin’s characters forced to leave the safety of their bunker in the aftermath of a comet strike that decimated the planet.
The film is once again directed by Waugh, with a script co-written by original writer Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune.
Taking over as the family’s son is Jojo Rabbit and The Long Walk star Roman Griffin Davis. Also in the cast are Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg, and William Abadie.
SYNOPSIS: In the aftermath of a comet strike that decimated most of the earth, GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION follows the Garrity family (Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, and Roman Griffin Davis) as they’re forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home.
Greenland 2: Migration will hit theaters on January 9th 2026.
