‘Ordained’: Colin Farrell Is A Deadly Priest In Comic Book Movie Produced By The Russo Brothers

It’s been a busy year for Colin Farrell already with A Big Bold Beautiful Journey and Ballad of a Small Player, and while he’s got plenty coming up, there’s always room for more. THR reports Farrell will star in the action thriller Ordained that will be produced by the Russo Brothers.

In Ordained, Farrell plays Father Roy Craig, who takes last rites from a dying mob boss, only for him to survive after confessing all of his sins. But now the priest knows too much, and everyone named is out to silence him forever. Little do they know that Father Roy is a lot harder to kill than they thought.

This sounds like a role that Steven Seagal would’ve done back in the day.

Multiple studios and streamers are circling the project, so expect a bidding war to break out.

Unsurprisingly, the script is by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, based on an upcoming Bad Idea comic book by writer Robert Venditti and illustrator Trevor Hairsine. Kolstad wrote three John Wick films, plus the Bob Odenkirk-led actioners Nobody, Nobody 2, and the upcoming flick Normal. So you kind of have an idea what to expect.

Ordained doesn’t have a director attached yet. The Russos are too busy to do it as they have Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars coming up. As for Farrell, he has season two of the Apple series Sugar, and a little thing called The Batman: Part II.
