‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ Trailer: The Bride Has Unfinished Business In Bloody, Uncut Version Of Tarantino’s Classic

The Bride is back and she’s got unfinished business! The first trailer for the upcoming theatrical release of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair has arrived, teasing the 4-hour cut that presents the cult classic exactly as he intended. Tarantino has kept this version, which combines the 2003 and 2004 films, secreted away for years as fans clamored for it to be made available.

The epic martial arts saga will hit theaters on December 5th and play in nearly all major markets, presented in 35mm and 70mm. It remains to be seen how Tarantino is combining the two films and whether any scenes have been re-edited or re-ordered to tell the story chronologically. The 281-minute experience will, thankfully, come with a 15-minute intermission.

An exciting addition is a 7.5-minute anime sequence centering on my beloved Gogo Yubari, O-Ren Ishii’s sadistic, meteor hammer-wielding teen bodyguard played by Chiaki Kuriyama. Some in Japan have already seen this footage but it’ll be brand new to us, and I can’t wait.

Tarantino originally cut Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair into two parts due to the extensive runtime, with volumes released in 2003 and 2004. The unedited cut was premiered in Cannes a couple of years later. Now it’s finally our turn. December 5th can’t get here soon enough.
