Streaming now on Prime Video is Play Dirty, Shane Black’s return to action-comedy and a new entry in the Parker crime saga. The character of Parker, a creation of author Donald E. Westlake, is a seasoned thief who is betrayed following a successful heist, and sets out on a course for vengeance. But before that can happen, he gets wrapped up in an even more lucrative scheme to rob a South American dictator of sunken treasure recently stolen by one of Parker’s rivals.
Parker has been a fixture on the big screen since 1966, and has been played by Lee Marvin, Mel Gibson, Jim Brown, Rovert Duvall, Jason Statham, and many more. Mark Wahlberg takes over the role in Play Dirty, joined by a hilarious ensemble that includes LaKeith Stanfield, Rosa Salazar, Nat Wolff, Keegan-Michael Key, and Tony Shalhoub.
Play Dirty has loads of action in the Shane Black style, but it also has just as much humor. I had the chance to speak with two of the funniest stars in the film, Keegan-Michael Key and Nat Wolff, about their roles in the film, keeping up with the action, being part of the Parker legacy, reuniting with Black, and more.
