The surreal absurdist humor of filmmaker Quentin Dupieux isn’t for everyone. The director behind Rubber, Wrong, Smoking Causes Coughing, Mandibles, Daaaaaalí!, and other divisive comedies, never sits idly for too long. With his latest film, The Piano Accident, competing at the Rome Film Festival next month, Dupieux is already moving on to his next project, Full Phil, featuring his most star-studded cast yet, including Kristen Stewart.
Stewart, Woody Harrelson, Emma Mackey, Charlotte Le Bon, Nassim Lyes, and a reunited Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are all set to star in Full Phil. Dupeiux made the announcement on social media. Production has already begun on what looks to be Dupieux’s first full English-language project. Berlin-based producer Siriusmo will provide the musical score.
So what’s the movie about? The Hell if we know. Dupieux tends to keep his ideas under wraps until the last minute, but you can bet it’ll be something deeply incomprehensible. This one seems like a shoe-in for Cannes next year. [via ioncinema]
