‘Anemone’ Trailer: Daniel Day-Lewis Returns After Eight Years Away In His Son’s Directorial Debut

Focus Features might have the cinematic event of the year on its hands: the return of Daniel Day-Lewis in his first screen role since 2017’s Phantom Thread. The three-time Best Actor Oscar winner isn’t showing up for just another movie, it’s for Anemone, the directorial debut of his son, Ronan Day-Lewis.

Co-written by the father/son duo, Anemone is a gripping drama about estranged siblings having an emotional confrontation that has been building for years.

Day-Lewis stars in the film alongside Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley, and Safia Oakley-Green.

SYNOPSIS: ANEMONE explores the complex and profound ties that exist between brothers, fathers, and sons.

The comeback of Day-Lewis is a huge deal, because who knows when or if he’ll ever act again after this. Opportunities to see arguably the greatest actor of this generation are few and far between, making this a can’t-miss.

Anemone opens in select theaters on October 3rd, expanding on October 10th.
