Universal Pictures didn’t wait long to keep the dinosaur action going following 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion. And it thinks it’s found a new spark that can carry the franchise into the future: mutant dinosaurs. That’s what we’re promised in Jurassic World Rebirth, and for those who have wanted to see these movies get scary again, this might do the trick.
Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey star in Jurassic World Rebirth. Godzilla and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards is behind the camera for the seventh movie in the Jurassic Park universe.
While dinosaurs roam the Earth freely, the most deadly and dangerous of them reside on an all new island. Their genetic material could be beneficial to the pharmaceutical industry, so they send a crack squad of elite agents to go and get it from three different different dinosaurs, all monstrous.
In this trailer, we get a look at the Mutadon, a raptor-esque creature that will have the humans running for cover. There’s also the much-talked-about Distortus Rex, which is like the iconic T-Rex if it was infected by a xenomorph.
SYNOPSIS: “Five years after the events of ‘Jurassic World Dominion,’ the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”
Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters on July 2nd.
