Michael B. Jordan’s ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ Remake To Arrive In March 2027

Michael B. Jordan is betting big on himself by directing and starring in a contemporary remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. The project has been in the works for a few years, and has found a home at Amazon MGM which previously worked with the actor on Without Remorse. Now we know when the film can be expected to arrive, as it’ll hit theaters and IMAX on March 5th 2027.

Jordan will direct and star as Thomas Crown, an iconic role previously played by the late Steve McQueen in the 1968 movie, and by Pierce Brosnan in the 1999 film directed by action filmmaker John McTiernan. So Jordan has pretty big shoes to fill.

Joining Jordan in the cast is Bones & All and Waves actress Taylor Russell. The screenplay was most recently penned by Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce, following drafts by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson.

The Thomas Crown Affair centers on a wealthy playboy and part-time art thief who enters a tangled, passionate game of cat-and-mouse with an insurance investigator.

The working relationship between Jordan and Amazon MGM doesn’t end there. He’s currently set to reprise his John Clark role in a Rainbow Six movie directed by Chad Stahelski, expanding on the studio’s Tom Clancy universe. Jordan also plans to direct Creed IV with the studio, a film that could see the return of Sylvester Stallone and Jonathan Majors. [THR]
