Best Actor Oscar winners just seem to gravitate to Paul Thomas Anderson, and for good reason. He worked with Joaquin Phoenix on The Master and Inherent Vice, and the great Daniel Day-Lewis on There Will Be Blood and The Master. Finally it’s Leonardo DiCaprio’s turn, who stars in Anderson’s latest, One Battle After Another, which was just given a new release date and teaser trailer from Warner Bros.
The officially-titled One Battle After Another has been moved from its August release date to September 26th, which should be good for its awards prospects. Anderson’s second Thomas Pynchon adaptation after Inherent Vice and his first film since 2021’s Licorice Pizza, the film stars DiCaprio as a former 1960s hippie whose past and estranged family come back to haunt him, jeopardizing the future of his daughter.
You won’t get any of that from this brief 20 second teaser, which features a long-haired DiCaprio, co-star Teyana Taylor, and newcomer Chase Infiniti firing guns. Others in the cast include Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Alana Haim, Wood Harris, Benicio Del Toro, and Shayna McHale.
A full trailer for One Battle After Another arrives next week. For now, take a look at the teaser for just a taste of one of the year’s most anticipated movies.
