Daniel Craig might be joining another major Netflix franchise alongside Knives Out. Deadline reports Craig is being eyed to join Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movies, based on the popular books by C.S. Lewis. If Craig signs on, he’d be the first official cast member.
Craig is being offered a role in Narnia, but the role is unclear. Let’s be real; if you’re asking Daniel Craig to do it then he’s gotta be Aslan, right? You wouldn’t ask him to play Mr. Tumnus, would you? Of course not.
Recent reports have pegged singer/songwriter Charlie XCX for a role in Narnia. No one has officially signed on yet.
Gerwig’s Narnia remains a mystery for the most part. She took on the gig directing an adaptation of Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia in 2020. The project is still in the very earliest stages, and it’s not even certain which books are being adapted. Netflix is planning a two-week theatrical release for Thanksgiving 2026, which is rare for the streamer. It does suggest that they have very high hopes for the film, probably due to Gerwig’s massive success with Barbie.
Craig was last seen starring in Queer. Next for him is Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery also for Netflix.
