Noah Hawley has stayed busy of late with his FX series Fargo and the upcoming Alien: Earth series arriving later this year. His last film on the big screen was 2019’s Lucy in the Sky, but he’s ready to return with Nowhere Fast, a crime thriller that will star Chris Pine.
Hawley will write, direct, and produce Nowhere Fast, with Pine set as his leading man. The Texas crime thriller follows a small-town criminal who inadvertently kills the nephew of his boss, and the consequences that spin out of that. Hawley will produce through his 26 Keys Productions banner, partnering with 30 West.
No other members of the cast have been revealed yet.
Pine has a pretty good track record with Texas-based thrillers. He starred in Taylor Sheridan’s critically acclaimed Hell or High Water alongside Ben Foster and Tommy Lee Jones.
Although Hawley and Pine have never worked together before, there is a slight connection between them. Hawley was briefly attached to direct a Star Trek reboot set within the same universe as the series of films that starred Pine as Captain Kirk. The film never happened, of course.
Expect more details on Nowhere Fast to come, including who will star opposite Pine.
