‘Dope Thief’ Trailer: Brian Tyree Henry And Wagner Moura Star In Apple Crime Series Produced By Ridley Scott

In a short amount of time, Brian Tyree Henry has elevated his career from a supporting player to a headliner, and after a busy 2024, he’s now got one of 2025’s most anticipated shows. Apple has debuted the trailer for Dope Thief, a new series starring Henry and Civil War actor Wagner Moura and executive produced by Ridley Scott.

Created by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Peter Craig (The Town), with the first episode directed by Scott, Dope Thief is based on Dennis Tafoya’s book about two Philly buddies whose small-time grift exposes something bigger than they ever could’ve imagined.

Joining Henry and Moura in the cast are Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison, and Ving Rhames.

Henry is an exec-producer along with Craig, who will also direct an episode.

SYNOPSIS: Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book of the same name, the series follows long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.

Dope Thief hits Apple TV+ with two episodes on March 14th. New episodes debut weekly after that.
