In Deadpool & Wolverine we see the Marvel heroes stabbed, shot, and much worse, only to shake it off and keep fighting. But they feel every bit of it. They hurt. A lot. Well, Jack Quaid has them beat in the new action-comedy Novocaine, because his character leaps into danger feeling no pain at all.
As seen in the new trailer for Novocaine, Quaid plays Nate, a regular guy who must rescue the girl of his dreams, played by Prey breakout Amber Midthunder, when she’s suddenly kidnapped. He endures a ton of punishment and inflicts a lot of it on himself because Nate has the unique ability to feel no pain. Dip his hands into hot frying oil? No problem! Pretty handy talent to have at a time like this.
The film is directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen from a script by Lars Jacobson. Berk and Olsen previously directed the Maika Monroe thrillers Significant Other and Villains.
Others in the cast include Ray Nicholson, Betty Gabriel, Matt Walsh, Lou Beatty Jr., Van Hengst, Conrad Kemp and Spider-Man‘s Jacob Batalon.
Paramount Pictures opens Novocaine hits theaters on March 14th 2025.
SYNOPSIS: When the girl of his dreams (Amber Midthunder) is kidnapped, everyman Nate (Jack Quaid) turns his inability to feel pain into an unexpected strength in his fight to get her back.
