‘Scandalous’: Colman Domingo’s Directorial Debut To Star David Jonsson As Sammy Davis Jr., Sydney Sweeney As Kim Novak

Over the weekend, Colman Domingo was honored with the Impact Award at the Middleburg Film Festival for his performance in Sing Sing. Already an Oscar nominee for Rustin, Coleman is possibly headed for his second in a row, cementing him as one of our best actors. But the actor is ready to transition to filmmaker with his directorial debut, Scandalous, and a tremendous cast is set to take on the roles of Sammy Davis Jr. and Kim Novak.

Deadline reports Alien: Romulus actor David Jonsson and the red-hot Sydney Sweeney are set to star in Scandalous. The film centers on the love affair between Sammy Davis Jr., the iconic performer and Rat Pack member, and actress Kim Novak. Having met on the set of The Steve Allen Show, Davis and Novak began a behind-the-scenes romance in the 1950s, but racial tensions and tabloid headlines drove them apart.

Sweeney continues to flex her muscles on this one. She was not only instrumental in putting it together, but is among the film’s producers. Following Madame Web and Immaculate already this year, Sweeney also has Ron Howard’s Eden, and her lead role in David Michod’s Christy Martin biopic.

Jonsson has been a fan favorite since breaking out with the HBO series Industry and the Hulu rom-com Rye Lane. Coming up for him is Francis Lawrence’s adaptation of The Long Walk.

Domingo reunites with Sydney Sweeney who he stars in HBO’s Euphoria with. The plan is for shooting on Scandalous to begin once both actors complete season three.
