New ‘Jack Ryan’ Movie With John Krasinski In The Works

Prime Video may have wrapped up Jack Ryan after four seasons, but it’s not the last time we’ll see John Krasinski as Tom Clancy’s favorite CIA analyst. Krasinski is returning to the role but not for another season or a new TV series, but for a Jack Ryan feature film.

The new movie will pick up where the series left off. Andrew Bernstein, an exec-producer and director on season 2, will direct the film. Series regulars Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly will return. Season 4 writer Aaron Rabin will write the screenplay.

This will be the sixth Ryan feature film, and the first since Chris Pine starred in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit in 2014. Other actors to have played the character include Ben Affleck, Alec Baldwin, and Harrison Ford.

Prime Video is making serious movies lately, with Jack Ryan, Reacher, The Rings of Power, Cross, and other hit shows with huge franchise upside. Krasinski is hot right now, too. Maybe he can be the guy to get the Clancyverse popular again outside of TV. [Deadline]
