‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ Trailer: Jude Law Uses The Force In Jon Watts’ Kid-Friendly Adventure Series

The response to The Acolyte was decidedly mixed, but now that the show is in the rear view, it’s time to look forward to Disney’s next Star Wars series. That would be Skeleton Crew, described as an Amblin-esque adventure about a group of kids lost in the galaxy and trying to find their way back home.

Last night at D23, Lucasfilm debuted a new trailer for Skeleton Crew, looking every bit like The Goonies set in the Star Wars universe. Created by Jon Watts (The Spider-Man trilogy, Wolfs) and Christopher D. Ford, the series stars Jude Law as the mysterious Jedi loner, Jod Na Nawood, who we only see at the very end of this footage.

The cast is led by the four child actors Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, Kyriana Kratter as KB, Robert Timothy Smith as Neel, and Firestarter actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern. The supporting cast includes Kerry Condon, Tunde Abedimpe, Michael C. Bradford, Cass Buggé, M.J. Kang, and Nick Frost as the voice of droid SM-33.

A phenomenal amount of directing talent is aboard Skeleton Crew, as well. Watts directs at least one episode, joined by The Daniels (Everything Everywhere All At Once), Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank), David Lowery (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Mandalorian), and Lee Isaac Chung (Twisters).

SYNOPSIS: “Skeleton Crew” follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew hits Disney+ on December 3rd.
