‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ Season 2 Trailer Finds Sauron Casting An Evil Spell Over Middle-Earth

Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is one of the most expensive shows ever made, but the first season…well, it got a mixed response. However, I can tell you from being there at Comic-Con for the show’s big presentation that its fans are significant and they are rabid for the second season. The world Tolkien created is rich and vast, and more of it will be explored in what looks to be a clear mandate to add more energy and action.

Picking up from events at the end of season one, Sauron has been revealed and his rise to power is drawing near. We’ll see the creation of more Rings of Power, and more heroes falling under their cursed spell. There will also be extensive battle sequences, including one that reportedly will last multiple episodes.

Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo, Maxim Baldry, Charlie Vickers, Charles Edwards, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Peter Mullan, Benjamin Walker, Ciarán Hinds, Tanya Moodie, Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen, Zates Atour, Ben Daniels, Sam Hazeldine, are part of a massive ensemble. Rory Kinnear will take on the role of Tom Bombadil, a character fans have been waiting to see for a long time. Jim Broadbent and Olivia Williams voice the tree-like ents, as well.

SYNOPSIS: Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season 1’s epic scope and ambition, Season 2 of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power hits Prime Video for season two on August 29th.
