‘Kaos’ Trailer: The Gods Have Gone Paranoid In Netflix’s Mythological Comedy Series

Being a god of myth is really tough. Sure, they get to live a really long time and literally control the sun, moon, and stars. But deep down they’re just like us, with human concerns and anxieties. For Zeus in the new Netflix series Kaos, we get to see what it’s like when the most powerful of the Greek gods has an existential crisis.

In Kaos, Jeff Goldblum plays a neurotic, paranoid Zeus who is afraid everything is coming to an end and that others are plotting to ruin him. And you know what? He’s right. That darned Prometheus has it out for him, and a wrinkle on his forehead means certain doom.

Along with Goldblum, the cast features Janet McTeer as Hera, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, David Thewlis as Hades, Killian Scott as Orpheus, Debi Mazar as Medusa, and many more.

The series was created by Charlie Covell, known for their acclaimed work on The End of the F***ing World.

Here’s the new synopsis: Having long enjoyed his status as king of the gods, Zeus’s reign has never been truly threatened. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Believing it to be the harbinger of an ancient prophecy which foretells his destruction, neurosis sets in: Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming. As his paranoia takes hold, the god of gods – seeing signs everywhere – starts to dangerously self-destruct. And he’s right to be worried. Zeus’s one time friend and now prisoner, Prometheus, is orchestrating a plan to bring him down. The plan involves three disparate humans, all of whom are totally unaware of their cosmic significance or the part they must play in saving the world. No pressure. (Some pressure.)

Kaos hits Netflix on August 29th.
