‘Blink Twice’ Trailer: Channing Tatum’s Island Paradise Becomes A Nightmare For Naomi Ackie

Being invited to an exotic island getaway with Channing Tatum might sound like a dream come true, but you might think again after this trailer for Blink Twice. Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut stars Tatum as a creepy tech billionaire who invites an unsuspecting woman for a dream vacation, only for paradise to slowly become someplace more sinister.

Kravitz both wrote and directed Blink Twice, but took input from Tatum in the crafting of his character, Slater King. Even his name sounds douchey. Also in the cast are Naomi Ackie, Adria Arjona, Christian Slater, Alia Shawkat, Geena Davis, Haley Joel Osment, and Kyle MacLachlan. Quite a group that Kravitz has put together. She co-wrote the screenplay with E.T. Feigenbaum, who she previously worked with on the High Fidelity series.

SYNOPSIS: When tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala, sparks fly. He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun-soaked days, and everyone’s having a great time. No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality. There is something wrong with this place. She’ll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out of this party alive.

Amazon MGM Studios will release Blink Twice (formerly Pussy Island, I wish they’d kept that title) in theaters on August 23rd.
