The pandemic era was a unique time for television, as multiple shows emerged to become streaming hits as we were all stuck inside with nothing else to do. Not all of them that were praised then are finding equal success in the post-pandemic time, but Apple is hoping that Severance will. The 14-time Emmy nominee is finally returning for a second season after a 3-year wait, and now we’re getting our first look at the return to Lumon Industries.
Severance, a series produced by Ben Stiller and starring Adam Scott, centers on the fictional Lumon Industries and their employees who have undergone a procedure to separate their work and personal memories. Lumon is taking the whole work/life balance thing to new levels, so one never has to bring their personal baggage into the office and vice versa. It isn’t long before a deeper conspiracy involving the procedure and Lumon’s real intention begins to take shape.
Joining Scott in the cast are Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, and new series regular Sarah Bock. The series was created by Dan Erickson, who wrote the first four episodes of season 2.
SYNOPSIS: In season two, Mark (played by Scott) and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.
Severance returns to Apple TV+ for 10 new episodes beginning January 17th 2025.
