‘F1’: Brad Pitt Is Ready To Race In First Poster For Apple’s Formula One Drama

Brad Pitt is feeling the need for speed in Apple’s upcoming racing drama, F1! Directed by Top Gun: Maverick‘s Joseph Kosinski, the film has been shooting at actual F1 events, including this weekend’s British Grand Prix which is where the first teaser footage will arrive. But first we have the first official look at Pitt in a brand new poster, decked out in his racing gear.

In F1, Pitt plays racer Sonny Hayes, who in the ’90s was forced to retire after a terrible accident. After training in other racing disciplines, he is recruited by an old friend to return to Formula One to work with a rookie driver and turn him into a champion.

While the story is fictional, Formula One worked extensively with the production to create the most accurate racing simulations to better immerse the fans in the racing world.

Also in the cast are Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo. Real-life racer Lewis Hamilton also has a role and acted as a consultant. Kosinski reteamed with Top Gun: Maverick writer Ehren Kruger on the screenplay. Pitt and Jerry Bruckheimer are aboard as producers.

F1 opens in theaters on June 27th 2025.
