‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Trailer: Tom Hardy Is Back As Marvel’s Lethal Protector For A Final Time

There’s a lot that we still don’t know about Sony’s next Venom movie. The first, released in 2018, was a huge hit both critically and at the box office with more than $850M total. The sequel, Let There Be Carnage, was less well-regarded when it opened in 2021. And now as we near the release of Venom: The Last Dance, the title says it all: this will be the final movie in the series.

As we know, Tom Hardy is coming back as Eddie Brock, troubled reporter who bonded with an alien symbiote and became the brains-eating antihero, Venom. While plot details have been scarce, the new trailer and synopsis tell us a lot. Venom and Eddie are fugitives on the and have to make some fateful choices to survive.

The film is directed by Kelly Marcel, screenwriter on all of the Venom movies thus far. This will mark her directorial debut. Other than Hardy, the only main returning cast member is Stephen Graham as Patrick Mulligan, the detective obsessed with finding the remains of Carnage’s murder victims. He got a bit of a symbiote upgrade if you remember the finale of the last film. Also in the cast are Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rhys Ifans, Alanna Ubach, Clark Backo, and Peggy Lu returns as shop owner Mrs. Chen.

Here’s the synopsis: In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.

Venom: The Last Dance opens in theaters on October 25th.
