‘The Fantastic Four’ Adds Natasha Lyonne To Its Stellar Cast

Even by Marvel standards, the cast being put together for The Fantastic Four is top notch. With much of the major casting already completed, Deadline reports that Natasha Lyonne is the latest to join Marvel’s film on the “First Family” of superheroes.

Of course, details on Lyonne’s role remain a mystery. She joins Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Julia Garner, Paul Walter-Hauser, John Malkovich, and Ralph Ineson.

Lyonne is best known for her roles in American Pie, Orange is the New Black, Russian Doll, and most recently the hit crime series Poker Face. Klara and the Sun, Taika Waititi’s adaptation of the best-selling novel, is next up for Lyonne.

While plot info is unknown, casting Garner as a version of Silver Surfer and Ineson as Galactus suggests it’ll be about the planet-eater’s arrival to Earth. That doesn’t tell us anything about Lyonne’s role, though. Let’s just hope her trademark snark remains intact. I can see her as a funny sidekick similar to Kat Dennings in the Thor films.

Directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four opens July 25th 2025. That’s just two weeks after James Gunn’s Superman, promising a crowded and highly competitive month of superhero movies. It might be tough for both to succeed being so close together.
