‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Sets Disney+ Premiere For June 4th

Leslye Headland’s Star Wars series, The Acolyte, finally has a premiere date on Disney+! A new poster has confirmed the show will debut this summer on June 4th.

Announced back in 2020 and confirmed a few months later at Star Wars Celebration, The Acolyte is set during the High Republic era prior to the Skywalker Saga movies.

The cast is led by Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae. They’re joined by Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Ann Moss. An impressive linup to be sure, with a lot of familiar faces. Suotamo, who played Chewbacca in the most recent trilogy and Solo: A Star Wars Story, will be playing another wookie, Kelnacca.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Acolyte: “An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.”
