‘Yellowstone’ Confirmed To End After Season Five, Sequel Series Launching In December With 100% Less Kevin Costner

If you were hoping all of the Yellowstone drama surrounding star Kevin Costner and the show’s possible end were just rumors, I’ve got some bad news for ya. Yellowstone will indeed end at the end of season five, which arrives this November on the Paramount Network. Not only that, but the rumors of a new series starring Matthew McConaughey are also coming true.

Taylor Sheridan has a new Yellowstone sequel series arriving in December, premiering first on The Paramount Network and then Paramount+. As previously reported, Matthew McConaughey appears to be in line to star, although it’s unclear if Yellowstone regulars such as Kelly Reilly and Gil Birmingham, will be joining him. Scheduling conflicts are the reported cause for Costner’s exit, as he’ll be busy working on his Western epic Horizon: An American Saga.

Yellowstone has been a juggernaut series for Paramount, with Sheridan launching multiple spinoffs to great success. So this might seem like a huge move but it’s unlikely to change much, as fans like following the different generations of Dutton family ranchers. Expect more news to be revealed soon.
