‘Extraction 2’ Trailer: Chris Hemsworth Survives Death To Punch More Bad Guys

The summer of 2020 was a huge time for Netflix. The pandemic had everyone staying indoors for their entertainment, and the streamer offered a treasure trove of projects that would be summer blockbusters if released in theaters. One of the big surprises was Extraction, a straight-up action flick led by Chris Hemsworth, which would become one of his rare successes outside the MCU.

And now Hemsworth is back for Extraction 2, which sees him reprise the role of awesomely-named mercenary Tyler Rake. The film picks up right where the last one left off, with Rake surviving death and taking on a new assignment; saving the family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from a heavily-armed prison. Hey, the movie is called “Extraction” for a reason.

Golshifteh Farahani also returns as Rake’s partner, Nik Kahn, joined by Tornike Gogrichiani, Adam Bessa, Daniel Bernhardt, Tinatin Dalakishvili, and Olga Kurylenko. Joe Russo, one half of the Russo Brothers, returns as producer and writer, along with director Sam Hargrave.

Extraction 2 hits Netflix on June 16th.
